Your Guide

Simone was raised on her family's self-sufficient farm in Switzerland, where a life close to nature was simply part of daily life. From an early age, life outdoors was both a passion and a way of life. Whether working the land or exploring the countryside, she felt most at home outside.

As often as she could, she’d hop on her bicycle with a fishing rod strapped to her backpack, setting off to catch her own dinner — driven by curiosity, independence, and a deep connection to nature.

That same adventurous spirit took her around the world on two wheels. And after many miles and countless landscapes and towns, she discovered Atlin, British Columbia. Simone instantly fell in love with the breathtaking beauty of Atlin from the moment she first set foot in this picturesque town. Captivated by its stunning wilderness, Atlin felt like home to her — offering a peaceful contrast to the hustle and bustle of her native country. She made the life-changing decision to stay, and hasn’t regretted it for a second.

Hooked by the experience and the opportunities, Atlin has offered her, she made fishing her profession and now runs her own Fishing Guiding Business in one of the most extraordinary places on Earth.

Thanks to my Trailblazers & Tackle Masters

In Atlin, Simone was fortunate to meet some of the true masters of fishing and the outdoors - and today her best friends.

First and foremost are Edith, Peter, and family. They opened their home and hearts to me when I arrived in this new world. Their support, kindness, and generosity have meant more than words can say. From sharing everyday wisdom about northern life to unforgettable days gardening, camping, boating, and teaching me the art of wilderness fishing—they’ve shaped my journey in so many ways. Lending me gear and canoes to help start my business was just one of the countless ways they’ve stood by me. I’m deeply grateful for the friendship, laughter, and memories. You are my chosen family—and I carry that with me every day.

Then she met Guy - the “Fred Astaire of Flyfishing,” who not only introduced her to the elegance of this unique fishing style, but also shared his profound knowledge of the wilderness in northern British Columbia (and btw, he also taught her how to dance…). Guy has been an invaluable support for her in many ways.

But her luck didn’t stop there — Simone met Gary, known as the "Lake Trout Whisperer". With unparalleled expertise, Gary imparted his knowledge of the majestic Lake Trout in Atlin Lake, a species few understand as deeply as he does. Guy’s and Gary’s knowledge of fishing in Atlin’s waters is nothing short of legendary!

With the steady guidance of Helga and Harro as the immense support in navigating the realities of running a wilderness business, boat maintenance, finding the right gear and more - Simone found not only mentors, but the friends she needed to turn a dream into reality.

Simone is deeply grateful for all she has learned from these champions of the craft. Their support gave her the skills and confidence to turn her passion into a profession. Today, she is happy to share the magic of this land and its waters with each of her valued guests.
